“As a family, we have been appalled by the details that emerged during the recent court case of former Hull funeral director Robert Bush. Our thoughts are firmly with the families whose trust was betrayed and whose grief has been compounded by the pain his actions have caused.
When a family entrusts someone they love to Smiths, they place an enormous amount of trust in our family and our team. We understand the weight of that responsibility and never take it for granted.
The care given behind closed doors must reflect the same dignity, compassion and respect that families see from us. That principle is at the heart of everything we do.
As members of SAIF, we are regularly inspected and voluntarily regulated under the UK Funeral Director Code. Families also have access to an independent complaints process through SAIF, delivered by an externally audited and Chartered Trading Standards Institute-certified body.
