Cremation
At Smiths Funeral Directors, we are able to support families with cremation arrangements at any crematorium, whether local to Peterborough or further afield. Our role is to provide clear guidance, manage the practical details on your behalf, and ensure that every service is carried out with dignity and care.
Each crematorium has its own chapel, facilities, seating capacity, and time allocations, which may influence your choice of venue. We will take the time to explain these differences, help you consider the most suitable option, and ensure that all your wishes can be met.
At Peterborough Crematorium, services are scheduled at 30-minute intervals, usually allowing five minutes for mourners to enter the chapel, 20 minutes for the service itself, and five minutes to depart. For families who feel this may not be sufficient, an extended booking can be arranged, giving a full hour of chapel time with up to 50 minutes for the service.
If a service arrives late or overruns the time allocated, this may cause difficulties for other families and subsequent ceremonies. Crematoria therefore reserve the right to impose additional charges if schedules are not observed. We will guide you carefully through these arrangements, ensuring the ceremony runs smoothly and with the dignity your loved one deserves.
